An interesting idea, and for that matter what about the future? Our experience and idea of time is limited to one direction and even if that were reversed, it still has a beginning and an end. But when we look to the spiritual teachings it talks about God as having no beginning and no end, and even in the East there are examples like zen master Bankei speaking of the Unborn.

So this idea of entanglement really takes me back to the idea of karma, not even in terms of the traditional understanding of past action affecting the present/future, but actually the word entangled is a good description emphasizing the import. Not only might we have entanglement between people, but if you step back and get a large enough context it's like what about the whole context of humanity and the world we live in? What about before even the earth existed, beyond any basis for connection as we know it? I'd be curious to see how a spectre either from the past or the future would relate to the eternal absolute beyond time. In our limited context the specific communication may be important, even if it is an exception to the rule, but how would that affect this phenomenon? Might it free up the energy that is causing the link?

By the way, there is currently an episode (#11, Unearthed) of Fringe on Hulu that kind of deals with this:

That reminds me of the whole point about whether Buddhists believe in reincarnation, one of the more prominent examples being the Tibetan tradition. Basically they say there is a teaching of rebirth, but that's not the same thing. When asked "what is reborn" one monk said "I'm sorry to say it's your bad habits." And actually, when you look at it in context of the teaching about karma, being caught in the cycle is NOT a cool thing. That kind of cause and effect is deterministic, which just means where you're unconscious about it. Actually from this perspective the real lesson in the typical reincarnation story would be how the person is caught up in this pattern of wanting to be important, or just identifying with a certain type of role. Even if it's true, why live in the past? If you're supposed to learn something from that past lifetime then it would seem to indicate you didn't if you're dwelling on it - we tend to do that when something has not been fully resolved.

Right!  It's painfully obvious when I'm watching a paranormal program and it involves a family and the spirit in the home is behaving like a lonely child to the mother but when it's in the son's room it whispers hideous violent things in his ear.  I mean come on.  It's clear in hauntings how a persons ego & weaknesses come into play by the "entity" that is instigating the event.  "Oh it's a mother and her babies are about to fly the nest, I'll bet I can hook her with a little boy who needs the loving arms of a Mommy."

In addition to the common 'I need a mommy' scam, there is the subject of the 'old maid'.  A lonely woman who has not married and begins to believe her ghost is her lover. That's also a classic.  Prey on the emotions, "She's a sad lonely old gal, I'll keep her company. I've got her now."

It's just too easy to see. The list goes on. Then we move into the realm of reincarnation.  That's a different type of manipulation all together involving the weakness of the ego. Say someone has a weakness when it comes to feeling special, so one day they get images planted in their mind of them in the 15th century married to a King and living in a drafty old castle. Bingo!  Another one with the blinder's put snugly into place. Bonded to ignorance by fanciful daydreams about princess's.   But it's still basically the same idea "Tell them something that moves them and they'll be yours forever."  Humans are just to fragile and gullible.  We really have no idea what is happening behind the scenes so to speak.

It's useful to remember that ego is key in how people are manipulated. When I say ego here I'm not referring to someone being really full of themself, but just in the general psychological sense of your self image, and for that matter how you see others. We don't even have to think of supernatural entities to see how our buttons are pushed, there are some people that just elicit a kind of codependent relationship with you, people that just become rather draining. Even on a psychological level we know there are power dynamics in these relationships that people are not aware of, and the fact that you are not conscious of what's going on is of course the clincher - that is where the possibility of deception exist.

Fortunately we don't have to be a psychologist to understand that there is more to the human experience than that level of consciousness, and even when there is going to be more maturation on the level of ego development having some spiritual awareness beyond that level can help us to not be hooked on that level. You can mature on multiple levels simultaneously, and when dealing with supernatural interventions it only makes sense to be aware on more than one level - it is much harder to manipulate someone if they see beyond their psychological sense of self.

The example of a child wanting a mommy is actually a good one, after all shouldn't we all be interested in maturing beyond childhood, and even beyond the role of caretaker, anyway? These are natural stages in development, but it's kind of like this line from one of Chuck Palahniuk's books: "I'm not so much a good friend as I am the parent who doesn't want him to grow up." Even if you are prompted to play the parental role, all of that is within the context of ego consciousness so it involves limited awareness on that level - and ironically that actually means you are distracted from maturing further into impersonal consciousness. And of course you can bet a less mature mind is far more easily manipulated than a mature one.

Quantum entanglement is part of what remote viewers experience when they observe data about future, present, or past events.  Their mind is interacting or observing quantum particles of energy or matter that are not bound by linear time as we are, that have been a part of said event and they interpret the information from these particles.

I've been thinking lately that perhaps when we experience a ghost, that it is similar to that type of event.  Is the specter actually just that, quantum particles, jumping from one locality in space time to the moment we exist in when we see the ghost?

Is it our minds interpretation of a marker left in that space from a different time.

I can't help but think of Gen 4:10 "The LORD said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground."  It seems logical to believe this is simply what a ghost is, something that stands vigil and say's "This is my name, this is what happened to me." An ethereal stamp left after something incredibly charged event takes place.

Many hauntings seem to dissipate after they have been acknowledged, as if it releases the phantom marker from it's vigil. But where do we draw the line between real ghosts and something pretending to be a ghost?  Something masquerading as a poor dead little boy that's lonely and just wants a Mommy? Which after you allow it into your life,  in turn manifests malevolent characteristics which would cause one to think "What have I gotten myself into?"
